Hi there, and a very warm welcome to my website. My name is John Forster and I teach and repair guitar's. I also repair keyboards and make Hawaiian Lap Steel guitars. I am based just outside of Maryport in Cumbria. If you are not familiar with my company and your first contact with me is online, I would be pleased to hear from you!. Please let me know what your needs or questions are and I will be more than happy to help.
If you have a problem with your guitar there is only so much you can do with Blue-tac and sticky tape so why not give me a call. (and No! this is not me in my workshop)
This is a guitar I made for a customer in Canvey Island Essex. The body is made from local Cumbrian Ash and for the fingerboard I used Walnut. On this model I fitted a gold bridge and a single matching humbucker pick-up. See my Tuition/Hawaiian page for details!
If you ever found youself up a creek without a paddle then two of these would come in very handy, but I suppose a safer option would be to buy one and learn how to play it. It could be a lot dryer too!
As you can see, I didn't overdress for the photo-shoot. It's dirty work holding a fence up, you know!!!
What more could you ask than on a nice sunny day to sit outside and make a Banjo bridge!. I think perhaps I should get out more, don't you?
This is my latest creation. I don't know why I made it because I have quite a few guitars, but it's sure better than painting and decorating!!! It took me well over 6 months to make but now at last it lives!I fitted two P60 humbuckers and a single volume and tone control. All the fittings are in gold and I made the scale length 24.5" because I only have a small hand!!! Well I do have two hands but I'm sure you know what I mean!!
